GIVING BACK ON A GLOBAL LEVEL
The Miss Earth United States organization is more than a beauty pageant. We are Beauties for a Cause.
Delegates of all ages within Miss Earth United States take part in multiple environmental awareness efforts in their communities and beyond.
Miss Earth United States has selected to focus charitable giving campaign, domestic and global efforts to World Missions Outreach, a registered non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
The official charitable campaign of Miss Earth United States is the 501(c)3 World Missions Outreach.
About World Missions Outreach
World Missions Outreach is a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping this generation with nutrition, skill education and self-sustainability to end the generational cycle of poverty. WMO provides 15,000 meals a day and 5.4 million meals a year, has founded 80 outreach locations and 3 schools. Established in 1982 in Hickory, North Carolina, the USA-based headquarters include a fresh produce garden of over 800 vegetable plants and is run on solar power.
In support of Miss Earth’s mission to care for the environment, the Miss Earth United States partnership with World Missions Outreach includes planting crops, preparing meals, enabling others to recycle and utilize solar energy, and acting as a global ambassador for children. All state delegates are invited to participate in the national pageant charitable giving campaign, honoring the top fundraiser in each division with a guaranteed position in the national pageant finals. The overall top fundraiser will travel with Miss Earth United States 2017 to a WMO school in Nicaragua as a good will ambassador. The organization will invite other Miss Earth state and national delegates to join Miss Earth United States during this mission trip.
Charitable Giving Campaign
Donate in the name of your favorite contestant in support of World Missions Outreach. Charitable giving will launch on July 17 and will end on August 4 at 10:00pm EST. The highest fundraiser in each division will automatically receive a semi-finalist position at her divisional final show on August 5 and 6 in Washington, DC. Funds raised support the Miss Earth United States organization’s global efforts to support environmentalism including school visits, visiting WMO in Nicaragua, attending Earth Day activities, and attending Climate Reality Training.
The overall top fund raiser will receive travel, lodging and meals while serving World Missions Outreach in Nicaragua alongside Miss Earth United States 2017.
While visiting Nicaragua, delegates serve as global ambassadors, involved in planting crops, preparing meals, and enabling efforts to recycle and utilize solar energy.
